Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals with Iver are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle pickup. This document outlines important terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Vehicle Requirements
- To rent a vehicle from Iver Car Hire, drivers must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type. A valid driving licence is required, along with identification and proof of current address. Payment details and a security deposit must also be provided, alongside any specific requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Iver location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are displayed in British Pounds (£) and include applicable VAT. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment partners.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is imperative to conduct a thorough inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document its state. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level; refueling charges will apply if the level is lower. Late returns may result in additional fees, so contact us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You are responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability
- All rentals from Iver include basic third-party insurance. The specific coverage details and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available, which can help minimize your financial liability. Please review these options thoroughly. You will be responsible for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount, except where additional insurance is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the booking type and the notice period provided. For precise information, please check your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, or off-roading, as well as transporting hazardous materials. Sub-leasing the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Ensure that the vehicle is not used beyond its designed capacities or outside of the agreed geographical limits.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Iver Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
